1ozt. .999 Fine Silver Round – “Death of Liberty Type II”, – by Ron Landis – Antique Finish
Today’s political and economic climate has created a disenfranchised and skeptical populace. With the coupling of indulgent Cronyism and a tax hungry Establishment, government greed has overtaken the common good.
As a tribute, or more appropriately a censure, of the current situation we face we are proud to offer this numismatic treasure fabricated from dies that have been hand carved by the iconic Ron Landis. The inspiration for this creation was sparked when Landis led an effort to place Lady Liberty on the new dollar coin that would later become known as the Sacagawea Dollar.
The prototypes Landis designed were distributed to members of Congress and by several accounts helped to pass legislation to create the coin. His classic Liberty Head design had polled at 80% approval among the numismatic community. Landis was very disappointed and befuddled at why a Liberty theme with a Peace themed reverse design would be thrown under the bus so that a powerful first lady could make a play to her political base. He felt as if Liberty had died. That feeling grew as he saw other rights slowly slipping away to more government control. Thus, this piece was created to illustrate this seemingly certain Death of Liberty.
Patterned off the classic US “Peace” Dollar, one of America’s most beautiful coin designs, Liberty has lost her luster and has been stripped of her life.
- Contains: 1 oz. Troy of .999 Fine Silver
- Beautiful Antique Finish
- Obverse: Skeleton Bust of Liberty. The LIBERTY legend has been modified to read “LIB.★R.I.P.” meaning “Liberty – Rest in Peace”. The motto has been revised to “IN GOV WE TRUST” to represent the growing misdirected ideology of our current culture. Dated “2016”
- Reverse: Perched Eagle on rock bearing an adaptation of the original “PEACE” wording to say “PIECE BY PIECE”. Headed with the title “DIVIDED STATE OF AMERICA” and changed motto “THE IXFAY IS INWAY”, or “THE FIX IS IN” for obvious reasons. The pseudo pig-Latin was used in place of true Latin which would not cross translate directly. The denomination has been changed on this this so-called dollar to “I.O.U. TRILLIONS” to reflect our current debt which is fast approaching 20 Trillion Dollars. Hallmarked “1oz .999”.
