Description

BARBER HALF TRIBUTE MINT ERROR

We cut the first reverse die without the “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on the banner and thought we would strike 50 pieces for fun.

They will be struck on a segmented reeded collar and edge marked “1 of 50, 2 of 50” etc.

The Barber half dollar, designed by Charles E. Barber, was minted from 1892 to 1915 and was also known as the Liberty Head half dollar.

  • Contains 2 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver
  • Obverse: Lady Liberty facing right, her hair is in a Phrygian cap, and a wreath of laurel encircles her head. The word LIBERTY appears on a small band or ribbon above her forehead. IN GOD WE TRUST is above, six stars are to the left, seven stars are to the right, and the date is below.
  • Reverse: An adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States, featuring a heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows and holding in its beak a ribbon missing the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”  A galaxy of stars is above. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and TWO TROY OZ. surround.
